MICE PORTAL Sustainibility

First of all, the reporting obligation affects rather large companies, but also small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are confronted with the issue. Competition, increased awareness and new requirements within the supply chains ensure that sustainability is given greater consideration in every company. In the long term, therefore, nobody will be able to avoid the issue.

However, there are also new opportunities in dealing with the issues of sustainability and responsible corporate management. Especially in purchasing, new processes can save CO2 and money. In the field of event organisation, for example, the MICE Portal has been setting standards in sustainable event planning for some time now. The German government even provides guidelines for the sustainable organisation of events.

We believe in this and promote service providers in the MICE Portal who are socially or sustainably committed and give them a space to present their work. In addition to the CO2 footprint calculator in cooperation with ClimatePartner, you can also organize an event completely climate-neutral with just one click and thus support a social project of your choice.

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

We as a company have also committed ourselves voluntarily and are part of the "fairplichtet" sustainability code of the event industry. We take our responsibility seriously. Our aim is to gradually put the company on a sustainable footing. Fair, long-term relationships with our customers, suppliers and employees are essential here.

SUSTAINABLE SUPPLIERS

More and more hotels and service providers are using electricity from renewable energies, buying regional products or getting involved in social projects. This commitment benefits society as a whole and therefore deserves our support.
We have made this commitment visible on our MICE portal. When planning a conference, seminar or event, green service providers can be found via a quick selection.

CO2 COMPENSATION WITH THE MICE PORTAL

1. post event in the MICE Portal

Submit a request for your event with all your requirements in the MICE portal.

2. select supplier

In the database you can already search for hotels that actively reduce their CO2 emissions and are thus labelled as "green suppliers".

3. CO2 value as comparison criterion

When comparing the selected hotels, the CO2 value is also displayed as a criterion. Thus, a hotel can be consciously selected which stands for and is committed to environmental protection.

4. compensate arrival and departure (optional)

Arrival and departure are not covered in the CO2 compensation via the MICE portal. However, this can be implemented, for example, by using ClimatePartner.

5. compensate CO2 emissions of the event

When opening the individual offers, the caused CO2 value and the costs for compensation will be displayed directly. At this point you are able to convert the CO2 compensation in the MICE Portal into reality.

6. provisional CO2 certificate

After activating the CO2 compensation, you will receive a link to your provisional CO2 compensation certificate for your event or event.

7. select climate protection project

Two days after your event, you will be asked by e-mail to select one of three climate protection projects into which your compensation investment should flow.

8. individual CO2 compensation certificate

After selecting the climate protection project, you will receive a link to your individual CO2 compensation certificate, which contains your supported project and an ID number. Your documents will also be stored in your project in the MICE portal.
